I have noticed a decidedly disconcerting attitude among some in the industry that the
Davenport five-spindle automatic screw machine is “old” technology. Because if it isn’t
CNC, fiber optic or made of Kevlar, it’s obsolete. That opinion couldn’t be further from the
truth. After all, the wheel was discovered eons ago, but it is still the only efficient way of

May, 2004 – For the 2nd time in 6 months, Davenport Machine, Inc., producer of 5-spindle automatic screw machines, has reduced prices on a large number of replacement parts. A new price list is now available and includes price reductions on over 850 parts, a breakout of attachment parts and prices for ease of customer ordering and hundreds of additional lower-usage parts inventory.
"Davenport continues to pass its increasing efficiencies in production of replacement parts on to customers," explained Andy Laniak, COO of Davenport. "We have taken a leadership role in price reductions because we understand how competitive the screw machine parts market is today. Our customers need to watch costs very carefully and we want to help them remain healthy, growing and competitive businesses." Davenport Machine, Inc. has negotiated lower UPS rates based upon its’ weekly volume of shipments. Effective immediately, rates for both regular and overnight service are being automatically passed on to Davenport customers—both domestic and international.
This is another example of the New Davenport’s continued efforts to reduce costs on OEM parts, attachments and machines.
