This 2nd position
dovetail tool holder is designed for heavy cuts. This
holder has a 10 degree face angle so the cutting tool is
ground with a 10 degree angle plus the desired rake
angle. The tool is set at approximately 10% of the
smallest diameter ahead of center (above center). There
are two"t" bolts to clamp the holder to the
slide for more rigidity. An American standard dovetail
blank, group number 2, 1 5/16" long, with a 1/4-28
NF tapped hole for a set screw is used. This takes the
thrust as well as making the tool easy for adjusting.
