This 1st position
dovetail tool holder is designed for heavy cuts. This
holder can be supplied with a 5 degree face angle
(3060-5-SA) or a 10 degree face angle (3060-10-SA). The
cutting tool is ground with the appropriate 5 degree or
10 degree angle plus the desired rake angle. The tool is
set at approximately 10% of the smallest diameter ahead
of center (above center), an American standard dovetail
blank group no. 2, with 1/4-28 NF tapped hole for a set
screw is used. This screw takes the thrust and makes the
tool easily adjusted.
