Straddle Milling Attachment. Part # 1390-50-SA
The Straddle Milling attachment works in conjunction with the spindle stopping clutch’s (part # 2496-57-SA*). *The speed that your spindles are revolving is limited to 2500 rpm due to the fact that you are stopping the spindles.
This attachment allows for milled surfaces to be generated on parts which are 180 degree’s from one another. The work spindles must be stopped to perform this operation. The attachment is independently motor driven.
The standard 1390-50-SA attachment is supplied with a 1725 RPM, 3/4 HP motor and also comes with an optional change gear configuration (1390-117-SA) which allows for variable surface feed rates for the cutting tools.
The Straddle Milling attachment can be used with only one or both milling legs. It can be used to generate various shapes or configurations of slots on just one or both sides of a part. Milled configurations do not have to be symmetrical, parts can have a shallow slot on one side and deeper one on the other.
